Our Mission

Al-Hadi Neuromuscular Center is a non-profit center of excellence established in Karbala by Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain / Authority of Health and Medical education. It specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of neuromuscular disorders delivering the best care to the neuromuscular community through recruiting worldwide experts in the field of neuromuscular disorders.

The Al-Hadi Neuromuscular Center is located in Iraq / Karbala, serving patients from all Iraq and the middle East

Our Goals

Provide diagnosis and comprehensive workups using muscle biopsy and genetic testing to achieve accurate diagnosis for neuromuscular disorders patients & their families.
Appling the most recent management plans following the international standards of care in both adults and children.
Providing the multidisciplinary care for neuromuscular disorders patients & their families
Advance research in the field of neuromuscular disorders to understand the genotype-phenotype characteristics of Iraqi MD patients and support translational research.

Vision

Recently Muscular Dystrophy was recognized as an international priority , and one of the main targets Authority of Health and Medical education / Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein to provide care and management for Iraqi patients.

Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a group of hereditary muscle diseases marked by progressive wasting and weakness of the skeletal muscles leading to disabilty and early death in some cases as in several forms cardiac and respiratory muscle dysfunction occurs, which leads to early death. MD represents a huge socioeconomic burden on patients, family and community.

The emerge of the novel gene modifying and mutation-specific therapies, have changed our aproach towards MD managment.

There is urgent need to advance medical care, awarness and education on the standards of care, genetic diagnosis, and the emerging therapies.

Of Service

Al Hadi Neuromuscular Center is a unique and specialized center that cares for patients with neuromuscular diseases.

We see patients who visit our center directly or are referred by other physicians. They are managed systematically, starting with a full history and examination to determine whether their complaint is due to central or peripheral nervous system pathology. Thus, our goal is to achieve an accurate diagnosis for neuromuscular disorders using advanced investigation techniques, such as electrophysiological studies, muscle MRI, muscle biopsy, and genetic tests accordingly.

Then, we recommend specific treatment, lifestyle, and rehabilitation programs.

In the rehabilitation department of our center, we provide physiotherapy plans for central and peripheral neurological diseases, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal tissue diseases.

Additionally, we provide a wide range of tissue and blood sample tests in our lab, aiming to meet international standards for proper diagnosis. Furthermore,

Numerous MoUs and collaboration programs have been established with national and international corresponding institutes and advanced laboratories to ensure better healthcare services.
